Thanks -- July 24, 2005

By Ed Sunday-Winters

One of the things that makes Ball Camp Baptist Church such a wonderful place is the people that work here.  I would like to mention two of them this week.

First, let me say a word of thanksgiving and gratitude to Shanda Chambers.  She is the Founding Coordinator of our Parents’ Day Out Program.  She started with nothing and created a program that will serve an ever-growing number of families and their children this fall.

Shanda’s devotion and sacrifice to the Parents’ Day Out ministry has been the critical action in its success.  It would not be what it is today without her willingness to go the extra mile.  Her energy and enthusiasm are evident in every aspect of the program.  Her creativity and understanding of children have resulted in a program where her students learn and have fun all at the same time.  Most importantly, her love for children and for her Lord has meant that the children in her program have consistently experienced warmth, care and concern.

Shanda leaves behind a solid program and is certainly deserving of our gratitude.

      Shanda:  Thank you!

Steve Foster is another co-worker that I would like to mention this week.  June of this year marked Steve’s Fifth Anniversary at Ball Camp Baptist Church.  You see much of what Steve does around the Church.  Every Sunday the Music Ministry leads us into the presence of God.  Steve’s leadership in this area of ministry consistently results in a sound that praises the Lord and blesses our hearts.  Steve also gives leadership to our thriving Senior Adult Ministry.  In everything that Steve does, his love for people is always evident.

There is, of course, much more to Steve than we see on Sunday morning.  There are the extra things he does when no one is watching.  He is always ready to help someone in need.

Steve has a quiet strength about him.  He does not rattle easily.  He is steady.  In any situation, he has calm and reasoned response or suggestion.  He is easy to trust.  There is no question but that to praise and honor God is what motivates him.  It truly is a joy and a privilege to share the ministry of the Gospel of Jesus Christ with Steve Foster.

Steve:  Thank you for being who you are.

Joy and peace,

Ed
