Lee and his wife Robin enjoy reading, hiking, camping, travel, and music. They are Tennessee Volunteer fans first and Baylor/Carson-Newman fans an equal second. They have one grown son, Justin, who lives in Pigeon Forge.

Dr. Clark Measels

Minister of Music and Worship

Dr. Clark Measels serves as Director of the Ball Institute for Church Music at Carson-Newman College. Clark has served most of the years since college as a full-time, part-time, or interim music minister. That work has included churches in Mississippi, Tennessee, and Kentucky.

For four years he was Editor of Publications for the Baptist Church Music Conference. He also served as an educational representative for that organization for four years. Recently, he has been a member of the Text and Tunes Committee for the hymnal Celebrating Grace by Mercer Press. His book, Music Ministry: A Guidebook, was published by Smyth & Helwys Publishers. His studies include degrees in musicology, church music, and vocal performance.

Clark is married to Rev. Nenette Measels, Carson-Newman Campus Minister, and they are privileged to live with two amazing cats.

Jonathan Higdon

Minister of Youth

Jonathan Higdon is a native of Nashville, Tennessee and recently moved to Knoxville from Waco, Texas. He is a graduate of the University of Tennessee at Chattanooga (by way of UT Knoxville) with a B.A. in Communication, and a graduate of George W. Truett Theological Seminary at Baylor University with an M.Div. in Theology. Jonathan has served student ministries in Nashville and Knoxville, as well as in Waco and Gatesville, Texas.

Jonathan enjoys watching movies, reading, traveling, and attending concerts. His first sports love will always be the Tennessee Titans, but he also loves the Vols (who have been infinitely more entertaining than the Titans these last few years). He is an avid soccer fan, and supports Tottenham Hotspur in the Premier League—even though they always seem to let him down.
